I have a 2011 Blue Slate G coupe, and I blacked out my rear emblems myself yesterday. My design plan for the car is to darken it up. I already have 35% tint all around with a graphite interior.

I'm not sure I like this on the blue, frankly, but I'll make the decision to stay with this or peel it off after BlueBatmobile's dark smoke head- and tail light overlays go on later this week. Tell me what you think of this black on Blue Slate, please. As to the bumper sticker, have a laugh on me....

My only problem was peeling off the PlastiDip around the G37X emblem. It didn't peel off neatly (I think I left the last coat on too long) so I just re-tarped and did it over again.

As someone else said on this thread, INSANELY EASY to do. I wonder how it will do going through the car wash.

Thanks again, guys. Nice, easy, inexpensive mod.

Patti

Protected the car & sprayed on 1st light coat of PlastiDip

Finished project (and funny bumper sticker)

Here's the Model emblem. Had to do this twice, didn't like the way it turned out 1st time

Lookin' good? Opinions, please. Not sure if I like that black over blue. Probably will look better once I've tinted the tails.

wow....poor G... take that ugly *** sticker off your car!

Yeah, I know the sticker is a little lame but not any lamer than the dame (Ms. You-Betcha-I-Can-See-Russia-From-My-House).

I've actually seen people taking camera phone pics of this sticker on my G, not to mention watching people in my rear view mirror reading it aloud and laughing their ***** off!

Look closer, you aren't actually taping off each individual piece.

Im prolly gonna do this to my grill. A lot of ppl here hate on plastidip, but since its my daily driver, I don't want to paint my grill just to get a chip in it :/

So if I'm reading this right all I have to do is clean the area I intend on painting reall well, then tape the area around the emblem I intend to paint as best I can and then begin spraying? And in the chance of some pastidip getting onto the surface of the vehicle, I can simpy peel it off?

You don't really have to meticulously tape around the actual letters/emblems. Just tape around the surrounding area. Plastidip will harden and can be peeled off like rubber.
