I saw this video on youtube that shows this guy washing the plasti-dipped emblems with a high power stream and nothing happens to the coat. Pretty amazing stuff.

Gonna try to do this this coming weekend! Excited, chrome sucks.

Thats the perk of this stuff. Peel it off and do it again.

So easy, even a girl can do it!

Thanks to Igor for the original DIY and all the others who posted up their own thoughts and photos.

I have a 2011 Blue Slate G coupe, and I blacked out my rear emblems myself yesterday. My design plan for the car is to darken it up. I already have 35% tint all around with a graphite interior.

I'm not sure I like this on the blue, frankly, but I'll make the decision to stay with this or peel it off after BlueBatmobile's dark smoke head- and tail light overlays go on later this week. Tell me what you think of this black on Blue Slate, please. As to the bumper sticker, have a laugh on me....

My only problem was peeling off the PlastiDip around the G37X emblem. It didn't peel off neatly (I think I left the last coat on too long) so I just re-tarped and did it over again.

As someone else said on this thread, INSANELY EASY to do. I wonder how it will do going through the car wash.

Thanks again, guys. Nice, easy, inexpensive mod.

Patti

Protected the car & sprayed on 1st light coat of PlastiDip

Finished project (and funny bumper sticker)

Here's the Model emblem. Had to do this twice, didn't like the way it turned out 1st time

Lookin' good? Opinions, please. Not sure if I like that black over blue. Probably will look better once I've tinted the tails.

Looks good from the pics...

Now get rid of the "funny" Sarah Palin sticker.
