CITYLIGHTS and Blinker bulbs
I'm gonna make a separate thread for this instead of the 15 page DIY headlight page maybe ill get more responses
What is a good bulb to use for the city lights aka ugly yellow light under the fog lights, that will look blue and match 8000K and 10000K, i bought super plasma PIAA 194 bulbs for my license plate i was thinking of putting them there for the city lights instead. but i haven't seen them lit so i'm not sure if they will match. has anyone else used them. and is switching the 194 wedge bulbs easy like it was to switch the HID headlights?
Also, what is the bulb that is right above the HID it sits right at the top of the headlight housing? and can you change it to a bluer bulb, led bulb, or anything else?
thanks guys

You can buy blue LEDs but I wouldn't advise it because they may burn out quickly in the headlight housing. Blue lights are for police cars anyway, get some white lights that don't throw glare in the eyes of oncoming cars and that actually help you to see in the dark.

alright well piaa has extreme white bulbs, i keep saying piaa because i believe there a reliable brand and a shop by me sells them, i dont know where else to go other than ordering them online and paying shipping, lol it's more than the lights themselves. i have 8000K hids putting a white wedge bulb in there would that even matter as far as the color goes, my fogs will be 10000K but the HID kit is a b!tch to put in, so ill try to tackle that next week.
idk should i use like a hella bulb or luminics bulb or one of those companies or something like that.
I'm surprised with the 8000K bulb my high beams are ridiculous bright i can see pretty well, obviously with the lows its a low beam little bit different but i barely notice a difference between my stocks and the new hids.

The fact of the matter is that you simply cannot see as well with your 8000K bulbs as you can with the OEM. The bulbs are whitish blue and throw out a lot of glare into other drivers' eyes, and you may think you see more, but the laws of optics say you see much less. The farther you go up from the OEM 4300K on the color scale, the less usable light output you have. My headlights are only 6000K and I can easily tell that I don't see the road as well at night as I did with the OEM bulbs. The 2500K fogs help up close.
I have the PIAA Xtreme White wedge bulbs. They are about 6000K color wise. Hella, Luminics, Nokya - all are good brands. However I don't know if any of them make a 8000K or 10000K 194/168 wedge bulb - I doubt it. There's plenty of guys here running high K LEDs on their cars, maybe they can chime in and help. I wouldn't know what will give you the results you want because I've never looked for LEDs for the headlight housings and never looked for bright glare inducing/ vision reducing bulbs.

Cool. I've had my Xtreme Whites in for over 2.5 years with no issues. I did just have one of my PIAA 2500K H1 fogs go out though. Replacing them with Nokya 2500K.

I know there's an issue with glare when using hids for reflector housing and noticed this when I installed them. I lowered the angle on the fogs and it seems to help imo to reduce glare to no more than oem.
OP, the bulb above the headlight is a blinker bulb and must be yellow. I replaced mine with stealthbulbs that are silver but light up orange.

Speedracder, my 2500K fog lights put out more usable light than those fogs. It's yellower, but it's more usable light output. If there is any actual fog or heavy rain, 6000K will bounce right off of it back into your eyes. And I'm not getting cursed by oncoming traffic because of throwing crazy glare into their eyes.
I have 6000K headlights and will likely replace them with 5500 or even some 5000K ones when the time comes. As you get older being able to see the road better > than looking cool.
I've got the chrome covered amber bulbs for turn signals as well. It seems to light up amber just fine but doesn't look yellow at all when it's off. I don't remember where I got them from.

^i think i know what blinker bulb your talking about my friend showed them to me last night, are the blinker bulbs easy to change?
and i bought a 10000K HID fog light upgrade kit and i haven't put them in yet, and i notice that when i look at others with blue lights i don't get a glare or anything it doesn't phase me idk, i do know that during winter months it's darker so i will just do a quick swap back to my old HID lights i pull them out carefully and placed the styrofoam wrapper around them and encased them in the plastic container and put them in a box for that specific reason,
curious, have you two: black betty and speed racer, installed an HID fog upgrade kit lately on your G?
