Black Grill Paint
So a few months ago, I decided to paint my grill black. Bad idea....
When I removed it yesterday it had hundreds of tiny little rock chips. I decided to try something a little different this time and use spray bed liner instead of paint. The surface is a little rough, but hopefully it will resist chipping now.

It's like texture black now. Pretty cool.

Yea it's pretty common to get rock chips after painting it yourself. I don't think there is a way around it. I guess you can just keep re-painting it, but the bed liner looks like an interesting alternative. Do you have any further shots and installed pictures? It might look good from a distance even though it looks pretty rough up close.

I sanded and used primer when I painted it the first time with plain paint. This time I just cleaned it and sprayed the bed liner right on top of the old black paint. That stuff is like tar and the can didn't say any prep work was necessary so I figured what the hell.
