My clueless n00b question for the day. Clear bra?

Okay,

Everyone feel free to laugh, but I have to admit this forum is the first time I ever heard of a "clear bra".

SO...other then the obvious (it's to protect the nose of the car from rock chips and so forth), what is a clear bra? Could someone post pics of the product, and if it does show at all, one on their car? Is it some clear thing applied to the front of the car almost like tint to a window?

Oh, and I do mean a clear bra for a car, not a woman. ALTHOUGH if you just MUST post photos of a clear bra on a woman...I won't object...

Also not sure if this is the right forum, no problem at all if it gets moved.

clear bra is to protect the paint from rock chips.. Ventureshield is the preferred choice around here. Most people do bumper + half hood + side mirror and that's what I have too. You can detail on it like you would on a normal car too.

It is almost invisible meaning you can only "see" it when ure up close. Walk a few feet back and you can't see it. Yes it is some clear thing applied to front of car almost like tint to window.

here are some pics, the clear bra is there, entire front half of my car (bumper + half of hood) but u cant see it :P

Beautiful car. Did you install the bra yourself?

What would an install like that cost @ a shop?

Thanks!

it's the same stuff on the side of your car near the rear wheels.

i had mine done for about $700 - but it was a crappy job. i had the bumper, part of the hood and mirrors done. find someone who works at the dealerships - theyre usually the best. but don't go through a dealership cuz theyre overpriced.

Is it necessary to do the whole hood? It's $100 extra to do the whole thing but I am not sure if there's ever any damage on the top part of the hood?
