Wink Are dudes really removing the battery to get to the fuse box?

I was installing HID fogs today and blew the fog fuse. Thought maybe the car could handle my ballasts without a harness, but they are old Hella Gen 3's, not the newer digital ballasts. So the fuse blew. Luckily, I have a spare 9006 harness.

Anyway, I was looking for the fuse box and couldn't find it for ****. Did a quick search and found that it's in the battery compartment. Someone in the thread mentioned that you have to remove the battery entirely to get to it. Well, just wanted to let dudes know that you don't have to touch the battery at all (just in case no one knew).

At first I was thinking it was a stupid ****in design, but once I started fooling around with it, I found that the fuse box comes out. And they made the harness long enough for the technician to work with it. So it actually is a pretty good design as far as making use of space. All you have to do is press on the two little tabs at the top back of the fuse panel and pull it up. Of course you should disconnect the negative, but when you do this as long as I have, you take gambles!

Sorry for the ****ty iPhone pics!
