Good to hear... The only scratches on my G when I bought it was to the
Shift *** metal insert... It was scratched to hell... No doubt from some
chick bling... but I'd love to replace it...

I was getting my car serviced at Infiniti and told them if they could "loosen" the **** for me, and they did without damaging anything, it was awesome! I ended up putting on my nismo titanium **** from my previous G35 coupe, love the feel!

Is the black rod what I'm vise gripping? It's plastic, somehow figured it would be metal. Am I missing something?

Okay this is ridiculous. Elbow grease? How are people doing this at all, let alone by themselves? Even sitting on my center console holding the vise grips with my leg and cranking the **** with both hands, it won't budge!

I tried to take off the oem **** myself. But it was too tight and wouldn't budge. So I took it to a local audio shop and somehow they were able to change my ****. They also said it was a b*tch to take off.

jus did DIY and it was EASY! w/out any toos the trick tip is don't use constent force to budge the OEM **** but use torque jerking force to break it loose take your time and it will eventually budge. Took me literally a minute to get it loose and couple mins to have it off the shifter..

use both hands left on the **** right over the left and give both equal force hope this helps!
