Clear Bra (Costs/Locations/Type)

Since we have a tint thread started, I might as well start one for Clear Bras since I want one but dont have an idea of costs and locations of installers in the Northern Virginia Area. If you have had it installed please kindly post the cost/location/type of it. Thanks!

I cant say I got a clear bra but I have heard of a place in Frederick, MD being pretty good for this. I'll see if I can dig up the name and get back to you. If I remember right the price was reasonable.

The prices up here were absolutely rediculous. I ordered my car from Grubbs, so I had them do it down there. after tax it was $704

The places I quoted up here were no less than $900 something.

Hi pratik97,

In visiting the site you listed, as I read it they do not do clear bras???

http://www.winnerswindowtint.com/products.php

My wife is hoping her ordered CPE 6MT gets here soon and we'd really like to get a clear bra installed locally. Hope to see some more posts here with suggested sources.

Hi, have you tried calling them? I hope I didnt give you wrong advice. I asked a few of my co-workers and some had suggested that place for a clearbra so I figured I'd pass along the info. There's a possability thats its not just listed on the site but they do perform the service?

I did not call them. It was only last night that my wife gave me the assignment to research types of clear bras and also local installers.

In using the search function I do not see a clear consenus as to one standout product. I'm seeing Llumar, Huper Optik, UltraShield, VentureShield, 3M, etc, etc, all mentioned with the usual result that people like the type that they have on their car. Surprise, surprise.

I may just goto the yellow pages and find a local installer of ANY brand and pay a visit to pick up on the basics.

I finished up back in '02. The price for the chin spoiler was included in the purchase price of my car. Part was $325 and total was $415 so I'm only guessing it was $90 for labor. It's from Jba Infiniti.

It's actually my wife's ride. We ordered her CPE 6MT on 1/27 11 weeks and a day ago. Hope it's soon.

I would be interested in eventually learning of your your Clear Bra experience.

I thought I'd simply go to the Yellow Pages and find a local installer and go in and talk about types of bra materials and installation considerations - the closest I could get to a Clear Bra in the Yellow Pages is Victoria's Secret, and my wife has placed those Off Limits unless I am escorted (by her.)

I may call a local repruutable paint & body shop and see if they'll share with me whom they use for these installations?????

This time I'll type it as "reputable." In any event, I have my auto insurance with USAA. USAA likes to use Zamora's Auto Body on E. Gude in Rockville and I have used them in the past.

Zamora's say they use Winners Window Tint in Rockville. I went to their www site at: http://www.winnerswindowtint.com/company.php

They apply a clear bra product called "ClearShield." What I know is what I just posted, however it may be a lead for Espresso for next week and I certainly will follow up with them in the next couple of weeks.

Does anyone have experience with "ClearShield?"

TIA

I have Clear shield on my G35C. I had Detail Auto Authority in Herndon, VA apply the clear bra. They also had the material cut prior to installation. The clear bra has already saved my front end once. I got the full package (front bumper, 1/3 of the hood, side mirrors, fenders, and headlights).

Quality of work is okay I have to get two minor bubbles touched up. Headlights overlap on the front bumper. However, price was inexpensive when compared to area. I paid $750 including tax for the clear bra install back in November 2004.

I tried to get my clear bra installed by Winners Window Tint but was not able to reach their installer (poor customer response). The price they quoted me at that time, last year in October 2004 was $400. This was for the full package listed above using Clear shield. They probably do quality work but I will never know.
