How to un-flatten the SIDE of the driver seat (and additional paint question)

Hey all,

So I am looking at a used g37 sedan and the driver seat (side) is flat due to constant use.....

It's like the person continues to roll off the chair rather then get up and out, which ends up flattening the lifted side of the seat.

How do I fix this?

Also - in regards to black/malbec paint - is it easy to get rid of swirl marks without breaking the wallet numerous times throughout the year?

Only real way to fix the seat is to take the seat out, take it apart, then deskin the seat bottom, replace/add foam to the bolster, then rekin it and put it all back together. You could take it to an upholstery shop to get it done if you're not comfortable doing it.

As for the paint there are several levels of paint correction you could have performed. It just depends on how bad it is, how much you want it corrected, if you have the ability to do it yourself or how much you want to pay to get it done. Once done it shouldn't need done again at that level if you take the proper precautions when washing the car.

Like Stealthee commented. The seat will need to be taken apart and fixed. The swirls.... well a proper cut and buff with the right materials will do wonders. Then ceramic coating to preserve the job this way you'll be able to maintain it however it's black and black sucks with swirls/dirt and scratches.

Good luck!

Thank you for the advice.

Wow the seat being taken apart and re-done even if just for that one area of the seat sounds like something I dont want to spend money on lol.

Just needs a real good polish to make it shiny and to help hide the swirls. Mine lasted, if I remember correctly, around 9 months before you really could see the swirls again. I paid a shop $150. That was wash, polish, and wax. Only hand or laser wash. Had the same problem with the seat. Look at post 23. https://www.myg37.com/forums/buying-...w-i-did-2.html

It's me, I'm that dude. The sport seat is not the most comfortable one especially when you're 6.0 and you're a bit lowered and drive the car daily.

The seat was not meant for daily wear is my solid opinion.

I read years ago that the seats were designed for the average Asian man, who tend to be smaller than the average American man.

Sounds about right, a bittersweet note. My G has been down for 3 weeks now and my left under thigh pain is gone.
Meaning that the side of my sport seat is the possible culprit
