Cheap $3 & 3 minute headlight restoration
This has probably been mentioned before over the years, but... I just wanted to share a moderately effective way to take the fog out of older headlights. For $3-$4 you can achieve nearly the same clarity as headlight restoration kits that cost 5-10 times as much, or more. This works better than the toothpaste approach, because it's not nearly as messy, and only takes a fraction of the time. Please note, this is just a temporary solution and only lasts anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on your local conditions, and if your car is garaged or not. If you really want to achieve a more permanent solution, then you should go the sanding/clearcoat route.
