Matte Black Rims

Anyone know a good wax or polish to put on matte black rims or should I just use soap and water?

Any basic wax is fine & better to have a little film on there for some protection over just soap & water.

You cannot polish, wet-sand or use conventional wax or use an automatic car wash that uses hot wax in the final rinse, as the flattening agents that cause the matte appearance will become ‘levelled

‘The textured finish is accomplished by a diffused 30 degree reflection and are retained very close to the clear coat surface. By levelling the surface the light will be reflected evenly and result in a ‘shine’

I like this product: Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant - 8 oz | Free Shipping Available - Detailed Image

But do some research to see if this product is compatible with your black rims.

HRE recommended a mild car wash soap and only water for my Satin Black wheels. I wouldn't wax them.

good thread How To Maintain Your RAYS Wheels! - MY350Z.COM Forums

use gentle non abrasive products. Never use dish soap or any "wheel cleaner" products. I like meguires ultimate, Zaino and Chem guys products. Meguiars spray detailer is also safe. Use it after cleaning.
