Ive detailed all of my cars more than once over. While I would gladly do it for family, friends, etc (paid or not, even), I find that I would end up taking days on each of them. I dont mind putting the time in, but they dont really have days where they can give me their vehicles.
The i30 I inherited from my parents took me probably 5 or 6 days of polishing alone. Not full days of course, but on and off....the swirls were that bad. Once my parents saw it they couldnt believe it was the same car. But again it took me a long time. If I were to charge for it my hourly earn would be so little I wouldnt even bother charging!
On the flip side, I worry the paint is so soft on my G that Im scared to try and polish it (had a detailer do it 2 yrs ago and had him Opticoat it at the same time so its fairly protected)

I've been curious about Rupes...I currently have a flex (and of course pc and similar that get little use anymore) and it suits my needs but I'm interested to hear what more people think about this machine

Mine came in today. Looks and feels great. I put a spacer in like KB showed in his review, it does seem to make a difference in how freely the pad can rotate. I didn't get a chance to use it yet, hopefully I will get to give it a tryout this weekend.

Ditto, got my yesterday and KB washer mod completed. Too bad it's been raining here for the past 5 days with more to come this weekend.
Really want to use it, and also try the Sonax perfect finish!!!

Tried out the 21" on Ford hard white paint, I know paint is different from the G but it was more to get a feel for it.
More than likely for G paint you will not need this combo.
Used Zephir coarse gel compound with blue 7" pads, hard combo and about 4-5 passes.
These sky lights are about 30 ft high in a warehouse.
I am impressed! Never has it been so easy, I didn't follow up with any polish, only a 1 step. This is a work cargo van, I didn't remove all the RIDS but it would have taken me a much longer time with my GG or Megs DA.

Used my Rupes 15 last night, with Mezerna FG400/lake county tangerine hydro tech pad. Wow does this think have some power, makes my old PC seem like an orbital buffer. It make quick work of rids/swirls in a single pass with minimal pressure. Love the Mezerna as it virtually has NO dust, but does have a slight solvent smell. This will be my go to abrasive polish, basically left my soft black paint LSP ready.
