Adhesive Removal
At an autocross this weekend, I used masking tape (all that was available at the event) to tape numbers to my 2009 x coupe.
In the morning is was hot and sunny, then in the afternoon, it rained really hard.
The end result was that the heat melted the adhesive on the tape, then the rain made the paper backing separate, so I'm left with gummy lines on the car where the tape was.
How do you recommend cleaning this off?
I definitely need to get some magnetic numbers...

Use a 'paint safe' solvent; 3M Citrus Cleaner Adhesive Remover Spray - super powerful cleaner can be used to effectively remove grease, tar and adhesive residue

Yes, Goo Gone works plenty well. Just De-badged the coupe this weekend and it did the trick as it did on the Mada prior to that. Yes, a good coat of wax or paint sealant should be applied afterward as it will strip down to the clear coat. Make sure to use microfiber or a an old cotton t-shirt, hanes or similar, not one that has color or print on it.
