clearcoat peeling from dried egg

just like the title said, unfortunately the night i park my G on the street i get a nasty surprise in the morning with a dried egg on my rear bumper. after taking it to the wash, the quick detail guy tells me that he cannot take the all of the egg off and upon further inspection i can see the clear coat was actually peeling off. the only way i can think of saving the paint is taking it to a shop and have them pretty much repaint the whole bumper. any other suggestions will be highly appreciated. thank you!

if the paint hasnt been damaged and truly is just the clear coat, than any compitent shop should be able to wetsand the bumper and respray with clear.

Thank you. I'm going to look for a shop and hopefully get a pretty reasonable estimate.

If the clear is peeling off the basecoat, you're out of luck...not gonna help with re-clear.

Egg damage to the finish commonly looks like a circlular swirl pattern or "dashes." If this is apparent, it's too late for wet sanding and buffing or just clear coat. Unfortunately you will have to have the bumper painted. You may have options of doing a partial repair and spray depending on where the damage is.

FWIW, I had my rear bumper resprayed for about $475. Estimates were in the $400-500 range, so that's what you're looking st.
