Best place to buy PC 7424xp Package?

I am looking for some advice on a package deal with a Porter Cable 7424xp, with pads, and maybe polish. My car still looks practically new but I do see some slight swirl marks and some water deposits. I am currently using Nattys Blue paste as a wax, and have tried Meguiars Ultimate Liquid....these little water spots and slight swirls are still there. Clay bar didn't do **** as far as I could tell. Anyhow, I have been ordering stuff from Detailed Image but was just curious of what other sellers you guys have used. Who has the best package deals? Who offers free shipping on orders over X amount. I only need fine polishing goodies...

Thanks for the guidance!

Randy

I was hoping that a car detailing oriented site might have a complete kit with various pads and polishing compounds. So far it looks like Detailed Image will be getting another order from me. Anybody have any reasons why I shouldn't go with the PC?

The Flex is much better but also more expensive. I have both. I seldom use the PC because the Flex is that much better. DI has a package with pads etc.

Do you think I run the risk of burning or screwing up with the flex as opposed to the PC? My family owns a hydrodipping business here in San Antonio, so I am sure that my dad or one of our guys can show me what to do as they do painting and polishing after the hydrodip process. I don't work in that business, so I am not as skilled as they are. They use the kind of tools that would be dangerous in unskilled hands...like mine.

Absolutely not. You aren't really any more likely to burn the finish or screw up anything with the Flex that you wouldn't with the PC. It is has more correction ability, but it's still a random orbital which is much easier to use and safer for novice detailers compared to a circular polisher. It isn't much more difficult to use than the PC, it just requires a different touch. It's not hard at all to learn. Practice on an old beater if you have one, or buy a large body panel like a hood or trunk from a junk yard (you can get a damaged one for dirt cheap) and practice on it. You can also try out pad and polish combinations as well.

More info about the hydrodipping business. Are you going to hook the forum members up?

Got one from Auto Detail Solutions....came with backing plate, choice of 6 Lake Country CCS pads, and some other pad cleaners and such for $175 with free shipping. I was about to pick up the exact same package from Detailed Image, but it was $199 plus $15 shipping so I figured I'd save a few bucks and try this other place. Also got great deals on Menzerna polishes.

Maybe not the best deal...but better than what I was about to buy, and this was really an impulse buy. My car is pretty much flawless, most people would think I am nuts for wanting to polish thee minor spots I want to. On the other hand my G is black, and I am sure it will get swirls of other imperfections over time that I'll want to correct. I am pretty **** about certain cars. Why does it sound odd to refer yourself as "****"...

Try autogeek.net
If you live in FL, shipping is free for orders above 75 bucks, I think. Great selection of materials too...

Check out Griot's Garage. They have a dual action random orbital polisher and tons of kits.

Orbitals & Polishing Tools - Griot's Garage

Plus they have a 180 guarantee return policy: We want you to enjoy our quality products for 180 days and have fun with them! If you don't like it for any reason during this time, return it for a full refund or credit.

I haven't pulled the trigger on a polisher yet but when I do, I'm going Griot's.
