Just finished wet sanding my G
After 2 days of wet sanding and finally buffing my G last weekend, it actually turned out better than I expected considering it was my first time.

Sorry, that I didnt get a chance to showoff the front view since I am still working on painting my grille "black chrome" and headlights. Stay tuned...Again, this is coming off of my iphone and you got to see it in person to really appreciate the work. =)

Looks great. Mirror finish indeed
Not sure if it's safe to do so. Basically a layer of clear coat is removed right?

very bold! the finish looks great, i just hope you didn't take off too much. was there some problem with the finish that required the wet sanding? i'm nervous about using random orbital polishers, let alone wet sanding! hand application is my "specialty".
loving those mirror reflection photos...

Thanks guys for the comments. Yes, my 2008 G37S did have orange peel and finally decided it was time to wet sand my baby.
Basically, for those of you interested in maybe giving wet sanding a shot I recommend these things:
1. Wash your car
2. Claybar car
3. Used 3m 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper using a soft sanding bar.
4. followed by a 3m 3000 grit wet/dry sandpaper (in my screenshot above this thread you will notice the even long strokes I made, this is vital to determine that you wetsanded the car evenly and acurately) You always want to sand in the same direction, do not zig zag or cross hatch.
5. Now its time to buff using a cutting cyan buffing pad, I used a Makita 9227 with Meguair's m105 rubbing compound and follow up with Meguiar's m205 polish (3m black finishing pad)
For this particular project I used 3m Machine polish finishing polish as this is great for dark colored cars).
6. Using the same black buffing pad I applied the Chemical Guys Extreme EZ-Creme Glaze with Acrylic Shine II. For some odd reason this smells like grape. Haha..
7. Lastly, to give it that wet look I applied the Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection (this stuff is awesome) by hand.
All this and took me 2 days, sigh!!!! If you guys need tips or help, dont hesitate to ask. If I have time I will try to write something up a DIY on how to wetsand in the future. Hope this helps!! Happy detailing!!

DIY please! where you got everything, any power buffers involved? or all by hand? how wet do you keep the car? what direction you sand for certain pieces of the car? I'm assuming left to right? what arcade game is that in the background?! wtf is orange peel? I probly have more questions, just can't think of them all. I'm assuming you're in Cali? Can see the palm trees in the reflection.
GL with painting the grill, I had done mine in a gloss black, but it's already got some chips. So I'll probly be repainting soon. Let me know what paints/glosses you use and if it holds up to chipping. In for pics on that.
On a side note, you should debadge the 'infiniti' letters, but just a suggestion!

Hey Zenolith666, hahah...yeah, im in Northern California. If you look at my previous post there are some answers to some of your questions. And as far as the DIY, I am definitely going to post something in the future. =)
The arcade unit in my garage is an old school Street Fighter 2 arcade machine. Its an Original with the exception of the CPS2 Street Fighter Anniversary edition I picked up on ebay. In between my sanding and GTR light install, of course I had to play a round or 2. lol
