Rust Oxidation spots on Chrome Trim
Hi Guys, can anyone help with this?
I seem to have some rust or oxidation spots on the chrome trim located on the trunk lip and around the door panels.
The pics are of the trunk lip right after washing. (forgive the shots, it was quite overcast that day... life in the tropics )
I've got some Megs clay but haven't tried it as yet.
Thanks in advance.

Never heard of it but thanks for the suggestion.
I got the car from Japan about 2 months ago, but these spots are really starting to bug me.
There are similar spots (very tiny - pin size) on the hood but figure I can get them out with some polishing.
Anyone care to chime in, would really appreciate the help.
Thanks.

This is not actually chrome it's actually a plastic piece with a chrome coating on it, so you're not polishing an actual metal, but a light metal polish will actually work just fine. I would suggest starting with a light cleaner or polish like the Optimum Metal Polish and it should buff it out no problem. This product also leaves a light layer of protection that will help preserve the finish. If you want more protection use a sealant on it regularly just like you would on your paint. My favorite sealant for the paint is the Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection which can also be used on the metal/plastic trim, wheels, glass, etc. If you pick up any of those items don't forget you can save 10% off with the code 10offG35. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to help.
