Compound a Brand New G37 S Coupe??

Well, my luck continues with new G's and this time, my 6 day old G was nicely welcomed to a lady's car door in a parking lot. I parked the usual 2 miles from any entrance, almost to a point where you'd have to take a cab from my car to the closest entrance and wouldn't you know it, one car, yes one car decided to join me out in the distance. I did the usual look to the passenger side and shocked, there was a scuff from the door. No dent, no paint loss, just a swipe mark about 18inches long! I waited like the stalker I am and finally this woman came out and paused then admitted to hitting my door with her door after my interview. My training in Interrogation Techniques paid off here.
Anyway, to the point, should I buff just that mark with Opt Compound or do the whole car? What would you do? Yes, she's willing to pay "a bit" so dealership and a high-end detailing place are out of the question, so rather than bring it to some half-butt place I figure I'll do it myself seeings I have all the goodies. Wolfgang car products

If I compound the whole car then I'm looking putting Paint Sealant on, then waxing so in other words, an all niter.

Finally, would you ask for some $$$ or just shrug it off ?

Again, your thoughts? Thanks all.

I would make a claim on her insurance.........................being nice and letting them "pay" rarey works out. 6 days old deserves to go to the dealership to be fixed.

I would have called the police for an accident report to file under insurance. If you parked like everyone else then I would say that these things happen, but since you parked out in the boonies it's practically as if this dumb ho was trying to mess your car up on purpose.

Tell her you want $75 for your time and trouble. Do it yourself. If the rest of the car doesn't need polishing I'd do just the door panel.

W.......T.......F.......!!! Please tell me you asked her why, why, why, did you park right next to my car when there are literally hundreds of other closer spots! I really want to know WTF is going through these idiots brains when they do this, seriously. I hope she learned not do this (park right next to a car that's by itself, far away from all the other cars) ever again.

First off, my apologies Mods for posting in wrong area, was still steaming and still am.

That was my first question Captain, and she really didn't have an answer. Granted she was about 60 but still.

I'm going to do it myself tonight and if for some reason it doesn't come out then I'll take it further. But I'm pretty sure it will.

I think what I'll do is go after $200. I brought it by this place, they're very good and have brought my car there before. He quoted around $400. I'll tell her I just saved her $200.

You should do just the door, if you do the entire car you are unnecessarily thinning out the clear coat when you don't have too.
