To those who have used TUF SHINE tire kit...

So I bought all these new goodies from Detailed Image... including TUF SHINE tire kit... I decided to try it out this morning... long story short.... After applying the tire CLEANER.... I go to rinse it off... only to find some water stains on my polished rims of my GT-30s....

[IMG][/IMG]

now I can't get rid of them! the only thing I could think of... was that I was "in the sun" while applying the wheel cleaner... but it was cool out, the rim was cool as well... but other than that... I can't really find out what I did wrong! I tried rewashing the rim with P21S gel.. and then tried polishing it out... but nothing worked... I hope I didn't destroy the finish... cuz that would be the suxorz... any help or advice is welcome!

only idea that i have is using some #000 steel wool with a little soap in the shade to polish out the water spots. Actually, first try some chrome or metal polish from a local auto store such as autozon, ace hardware(auto isle), or pep boys. I would wait for greg from DI to answer first tho, as he may have a better and easier idea.

Sorry to hear about that, the tire cleaner may be too strong for certain wheel finishes so be careful spraying it especially in direct sun. Next time you use it cover the wheels or apply the cleaner with a sponge, rag. To get rid of those marks do not use steel wool yet, you should be able to remove it with a safer option like a metal polish. The Optimum Metal Polish or the P21S Finish Restorer which is one of my favorite metal polishes. Apply it with a soft cloth and medium pressure and they should be fine afterwards, plus much cleaner. Let me know if you have any questions.

To be safe I would definitely recommend you cover them or be extra careful with the application. If you do get some on the wheels be sure to wipe it up right away with a clean cloth. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to help.
