How to remove these caca stains ?
Hi all,
I searched and to be honest I could not match or hit it with my search. I took my wheels off the other day hoping to give those nice calipers a cleaning they deserve, so I prepared a bottle with a mixture of soap and water and went to town , this was done on dead cold calipers first thing in the morning. Even though I let the soap mixture soak, it did not do absolutely anything to remove those stains.
Here is a picture of what they look like:
Do you have any special methods and or suggestions to get ride of those stains or just recoat them ? What do you think

it's hard to tell from the pics what caused those but my best guess would be a mixture of tar and brake dust that has been cooked onto the calipers. I wouldfirst try a rim cleaner that is safe for aluminum. spray on and let it sit for a min or two (depending on the instructions on the bottle since some reccommend to let sit and soak for longer than that) then scrub with a soft brush - I use a dish brush or the coarse side of dish sponge. if that does not remove it you could try to gently clay it off thenpolish with something like Klasse All in One.
good luck and let us know what you tried and the results.
EDIT: this is assuming this is on the surface and not pitting into the aluminum.
