Removing salt stains
What's the best method of removing salt stains from the carpet. I have a black interior. I have tried using carpet cleaning soap, an upholestry cleaner, scrubbing it off, but it's still not completely coming off.
Any suggestions?

Road Salt Stains
Are usually caused by calcium chloride and magnesium chloride. Use a stiff brush to dislodge any loose road salt and then vacuum, spray the area with a carpet cleaner like Folex or an all purpose cleaner like P21S Total Auto Wash and let it soak in, rinse with plenty of water and repeat until most of the stain has been lifted. Finally clean carpets by spraying the area with a carpet shampoo rinse and then remove with a carpet extractor.
(Dry) Salt is inert but be aware that once you add water ( by meting the snow / ice ) to salt it becomes alkaline (corrosive) take care to dry the affected area thoroughly after the salt has been removed and neutralize it with an mild acid (vinegar) Spray vinegar, agitate, allow to remain in place and then use an extractor. Actually, any mildly acidic product should neutralize alkaline salt crystals (Salt-X - Salt-X = The best salt and salt corrosion fighter! )
Once the salt has been removed use a carpet cleaner (Folex) and a carpet extractor
Note: reactivity - once you add heat and water to salt this combination becomes very corrosive

How did the Salt Eraser work? Anyone else use Salt Eraser before?

Finally got to clean the salt off. Used distilled water first to remove the salt as much as possible and drying it with microfiber towels. Then used salt eraser and finally a carpet shampoo. Looks much better.
