I use a sealant & wax to protect the wheel. Then for daily upkeep all it needs is some soap + water + quick detailer.

I apply sealant every 6 months, wax every 2 weeks or so.

The added protection that the sealant & wax provide really makes maintaining that brand new finish/shine much easier.

Polished Aluminium Lips

They can be either a clear coated, anodized, or bare polished aluminium (using a metal polish will turn the cloth black if the metal is not coated) in which case different types of polishes are needed for each.

Bare (uncoated) aluminium; remove any grease with a d-limonene (citrus) based cleaner P21S® Total Auto Wash. Use Optimum Metal Polish and a Mother’s Powerball and then wash with P21S® Polishing Soap

Clear coated; Wash surface with P21S® Total Auto Wash, remove any brake dust / tar and then use a polymer sealant

For stronger cleanings I recommend a pH balanced cleaner like the SONAX Wheel Cleaner Full Effect or the Chemical Guys Diablo Gel Rim and Wheel Cleaner. Both are completely safe on all wheels and work great.

For protection use a sealant on them like the one you use on your paint or use a wheel specific sealant like the Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant.

As always save 10% off on these products at Detailed Image - Premium Auto Detailing and Car Care Products with the coupon code 10offg37. Let me know if you have any questions.
