Got it on my 2010 FX and LOVE it- I plan on putting it on my new G vert when I put it on the road next month. Make sure your installer is authorized and trained by 3M.

Actuall;y its a great product. I highly recommend going with a better film than 3M. It has too much orange peel to it and does not look that great. VentureShield Ultra, Avery Denison Nano Fusion, and Xpel Extreme and much better films that come with better warranties as well. Installers can be ceritified through numerous comapnies, not just. I highly recommmend you find someone that does only clear bra installations as anyone can go get certified and still do poor quality work. It takes years to get good at aplying film and it comes through expereince. I have been in the industry for 8 years and have seen some very poor installation work by so called certified installers. Check out their work first and make sure there is no free hand cutting on the paint. Not many people have the talent to do that without damaging the paint.

If you have any mroe questions let me know. I klnow a lot of installers and might be able to help you find a good one in your area.

Was reading up myself and found that the Scotchguard film and the Ventureshield are now both owned by 3M.

^^^^ I was told that V.S is owned by 3M.. But however, there's still difference between them.

3M's advantage is, it's THICK. Disadvantage is that they are more visible.

Venture shield's advantage is they don't look visible because they are thinner. ( I chose this on my previous car and it worked perfect, other than the only rock chip i had, ends up hitting just at the corner of my bumper where there's no clear bra).

For my G, I think i m going to go with 3M. Just because i think the G has a bigger surface in the front and is easier to get rock chips. So i need something thicker to protect!

Venture shield is more prone to damage from bug remains too -- found that on google.

Mine was part of the new car price negotiations along with llumar ceramic tint. Love the 3m clear bra (NOT ventureshield, too wimpy).

yeah... so... got the 3M, picked up the car 9:30 at night, was leaving on a 500 mile roadtrip the next morning. by the time i let the "bubbles" dry and everything else. i could tell what a crappy job was done. it was butchered, the mirrors are about 65% covered. looks like crap! i have to call the guy... not sure what to expect.

I got the 3m on the front facia, half the hood and the outside mirrors. They did a really good job, no bubbles and very even. The only issue with mine is there's some unevenness around the edges on the outside mirrors, but no big deal to me. With the 3m, the front looks flawless, no chips, scratches etc. I heard that 3m tends to turn orange, but it's over a year now and so far so good.

VentureShield was bought out by 3M since they were 3Ms biggest competitor. The standard film could scuff but the Ultra film us topcoated and is much more durable. Also thicker is NOT better. There aren't many films out there thicker than 8 mil... including 3M. So not sure who told you it was better better it was thicker. Avery Nano Fusion film is excellent as well and also comes with a lifetime warranty where 3M only has a 5 year warranty.

I have the 3m clear bra and I love it. Definitely worth the money if you do a lot of highway travel, nothing like getting behind a logging truck and having bark and wood chips flying towards you. Luckily I bought my car and it had a clear bra on it and the lifetime warranty transferred. Just make sure you get a reputable installer.
