Looks like I messed up my paint with my PC

no door open but i probably pressed too hard without noticing it.. I admit the angle kinda makes it easy to push too hard since it's a narrow area to focus on.
The weird thing though is that the burn also happened on the rear door as well. Is it possible the cold outside makes it more likely to burn?

I called Infiniti about touch up paint since I figured i might as well try it before spending money on a shop. The paint they sell does indeed come with clearcoat. He said something about it being 2-in-1, one side paint and one side clear.

update: I applied the first paint touch and the damage is not even visible anymore unless you look closely. I just need to apply another coat then sand it off and apply the clear. I'll wait a couple of days before I do this.
For $13.75, well worth it.

dont be too hard on yourself. whatever your car rubbed up againts took 90% of the paint away, and then the pc took another 10% down to the primer. same thing would have happened if you went to a body shop. unavoidable.

no, I actually hit their bumper. The car was blue/dark. Trying to fit into a tight parking spot and then trying to get out and failing = scratches
I'm surprised so many people suggest a full body shop repaint... the touch up paint worked just fine and saved me a lot of money.

^ glad it worked out with you. Ive had very good results doing exactly what I typed up on the first page. If you take your time, for solid colors, you can get a very good match with touch up paint.

I'll post pictures once I am done. I still need to apply another coat, then sand it down and apply clear. Even right now you need to be pretty close to even see it, and know it's there. The color isn't a 100% match yet because it's not shiny without clear.

You can mix clear coat and paint together to fix scratches and dings - works pretty well, and you avoid that whole paint, et sand, clear coat, wet sand, polish ordeal. If you do it tiny bit by tiny bit and avoid getting extra paint on the surrounding areas, you can just use m205 or even scratchX to 'sand' the excess down and make it shiny.
