Flex XC3401VRG Question

I have a Flex XC3401VRG and it works well. It is easy to use on large areas but on the cars I regularly detail there are many small areas that need a smaller pad. Should I sell my Flex and pick up a PC XP with the 5.5 & 4 inch pads or just add the PC XP to my kit? I don't think I can justify keeping both buffers as use them on my personal cars only. Thoughts?

Anyone interested in a lightly used Flex with case and pads? I bought it new from Detailed Image. It is in excellent shape. What should I sell it for if I decide to? Anyone here wanting to moveup to the Flex?

Thanks

I thought the Flex could use smaller pads, just like the PC...

In any case the PC is absolutely amazing and I've been using it for quite a while.

^ I think someone used to make an adapter plate to use the 4" pads on the Flex. I can't find it anymore.....

You can use 5.5" pads w/ the stock backing plate. Other than that, some people have tried using the edge conversion kit but I've also heard of a handfull of problems with it since it's not specifically designed for the buffer. I had one customer ruined the gears of their Flex b/c they tried to use it.

Thanks. Kinda what I thought. I am not using the Flex enough to justify the cost. I may try and sell the Flex, bag & pads then buy a PC XP with 5.5" & 4" pads. If I can't sell the Flex my other option is to get a PC XP with the 4" pads and use it on tight areas.

I have both. The Flex is a superior polisher. I only use the PC now for tighter spots with 4" pads.

That's probably the way I'll go as well.

I ordered a PC XP with 4" pad adapter and some 4" pads today. Thanks DI!

I would look into the Griot's Mini, a polisher that is designed for 4" pads. I have bought one but have not had an opportunity to use it yet.
