Water Spots

I have what look like water spots on my trunk lid. I did not notice them the last time I cleaned the car. I use the ONR process to clean my car. After getting all the pollen off during the wash last night, I noticed them. I thought maybe it was just your typical drying water spots. So, I rewashed the area. It did not remove the spots. I think that the spots came up between washes (not sure).

What can I do to remove them now? I used the Quick Detailer and Wax and they were still there (though I did not expect them to remove the spots).

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Charlie.

Claybar should do the trick.

^^ Claybar does not do the trick, at least not in my experience. I have yet to have good luck with hard water stains / spots, especially on 3-4 year old cars - if any really knows how to get rid of this things, please chime in, I'd love to know also....

^ I've never not had clay bar do the trick on any vehicles that I've detailed. But if claybar is not working for you, your next step would be applying an abrasive polish.

I'll be happy to give it a try - I'd be ecstatic if I could get the water marks off my 5 year old minivan....what about water marks on glass?

I use to get water spots on my car windows and tried everything to remove them. Some people suggest vinegar.
It didn't work for me. Then I read on a forum about Bon-Ami powder in the can. It did the job. It states on the can that it will not scratch surfaces and it never scratched anything I used it on.
It also states on the can not to use it on glass. I've never had a problem using on house or automotive glass.

Hey! I'll have to give it a try - you used a non-abrasive pad like a regular sponge, right?
