Wheel cleaner???

I was at Autozone yesterday and wanted to buy a wheel cleaner but then I remembered some member had a wheel cleaner eat his paint and leave awful spots on his wheels. I was just wondering if there is any safe wheel cleaner I can use that is commercially available? Thanks!

I just bought Chemical Guys Rim + Wheels cleaner. Haven't used it yet, but I have only heard good things.

The only wheel cleaner I will use is P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner. It's is safe for all wheels and does not contain harsh detergents and acids. It does a great job. I'm one of the pickiest people on detailing products so you can trust this one.

Product Description
The German based P21S manufacturer is continuously seeking perfection with each one of their products and they succeeded with this fantastic wheel cleaner. Just spray your wheels down and rinse them clean with the P21S Wheel Cleaner. This unique wheel cleaner is pH balanced and gel based. This is contrary to most cleaners which use strong acids and are liquid based wheel cleaners. P21s Wheel Gel Cleaner is pH balanced and completely safe to use on any wheel with any kind of finish. There are no harsh corrosive agents in this cleaner that can possibly fade or tarnish the wheel. The gel formula helps clings to all vertical and horizontal surfaces that liquid based cleaners just run off of. The wheel gel then helps release road grime, brake dust and other contaminates that accumulate over time. Cleaning wheels has never been easier or more thorough. Get the safest and most effective wheel cleaner on the market with the P21S Wheel Gel Cleaner. The 1000ml bottle is considered a refill size by the manufacturer and it does not come with a trigger. The 500ml Kit comes with a trigger and a foam sponge to help you clean.

Stuff like Simple green, purple power, and all that degreaser stuff from autozone will likely damage your wheels. But if you leave mostly any wheel cleaner on the wheels for too long it will cause damage, especially on a hot sunny day.

^ What do you use now? The best two wheel cleaners that I've used is P21S and Chemical Guys Citrus Wheel Cleaner. The cleaning power of the P21S is just unbeatable though and has been my favorite for quite some time.

No dedicated wheel cleaner yet, I've used just whatever shampoo I use to clean the paint (PBW Super Click and Suds, CG Maxi Suds, or CG Citrus Wash & Gloss) and not had a problem thus far. My wheels are painted face/polished aluminum lip.

^ Jeremy, pick up some P21S in your next order of supplies, I think you'll be really happy with it.
