Anyone have pics of an oldish car that never had a Clear bra.

After reading all the clear bra posts, I really don't like the idea of the clear bra.

But I also see that Infiniti has "soft" paint.

Will I regret not getting the clear bra?

Most of the old posts have pics of the clear bras on the cars.

Do any of you fine folks have pictures of an unprotected bumper/hood that can illustrate not having a clear bra on the soft paint of your G?

a buddy has an 04 G35 coupe black and had the bra on from the beginning. He took it off recently and you can see the color difference since the part that wasn't covered is faded.

If you want to get clear bra I suggest you get the whole hood and fenders covered. It's worth it!

What's the concensus on using a Clear Bra? Is it worth it and does it change the look of the car at all? Do you only cover the hood and fenders?

I have a 3M clear bra. Defiently worth it. I have 1/3 of my hood covers, the side view mirrors and about 1/3 of the left and right quarters panels. I would say its def worth it. Since i live in edmonton, the gravel in the winter would destroy the infiniti paint without some protection. I recommend it.

IMO the idea of a clear bra is great but I don't like it b/c it leaves an ugly line where it ends, I guess if you get the ENTIRE front and hood done it'd be ok but I've never seen that done ever

is it possible to get it all covered? seems like that would be a win win situation although probably more expensive.

I have had my 08 with a clear bra for almost 2 yrs now and people still say " Oh I did'nt notice the clear bra" after the first responce of "nice car!,How do you like it?"

If you want the front of your car to stay nice...............Go for the bra.

you could get the whole thing i suppose. I think it would be a bit of overkill though. Just dont drive behind the big rigs and you should be just fine

Dont normally post over here, but avid poster on G35driver. My 2007 has a clear bra that covers the ENTIRE hood, and ENTIRE front two quarter panels, along with the front bumper, headlights, mirrors, behind the door handles, and finally a small piece in front of the rear wheels. I bought the car used from an Infiniti dealer that sold it new. They installed the bra back when they sold it new the first go around.

I was skeptical at first, if I had to live with a seam, I would probably have it removed.

I am fairly **** about my rides and I would much rather live with a almost invisible seam as apposed to a sand blasted front end.

Take the time to find a shop that knows WTF they are doing.

A job done right is barely noticeable and in fact, most of the time, The only one that will notice is you!

Infiniti paint is the most fragile paint I've ever seen and I've owned quite a few cars since the low VOC paint processes became mandatory. It's a shame that you have to buy additional products just to keep chips from flying off your car without much provocation. I'd highly recommend the clear bra. Our 07 G looked pretty bad & I made the horrible assumption that my 09 w/ self-healing paint would be better. The damn hood looks like crap and regret not getting the clear bra installed.

Get the bra, and if you can get the whole hood. I waited 2 months to get mine, and picked up some nice scratches on the bumper for my delay. I have only the partial hood, and I have probably a dozen nics and scratches above it now. Live and learn. I did not even know about clear bras until I came to this forum, and it never occured to me to get the whole hood, until I saw the nics and scratches above it.

My car isn't old, only 6 months and 11k miles, but I'll take a pic when I get home. You don't want to end up like me. Get the clear bra. It's my biggest regret(aside from not getting the 6mt).

People say it will just get chipped up anyway. Well having a new clear bra installed is easier than repainting the whole front end.
