Applying paste wax
How do you guys apply paste wax with a buffer? I have a PC with 6inch pads and I use liquid waxes but all the good ones are paste (like Dodo juice).

I've seen people apply soft paste waxes with a buffer. Take some of the wax by hand or knife and spread it on your pad. Don't think you can do that with hard wax. Me personally, I apply my soft Dodo Juice wax by hand (literally).
You can also try getting the Dodo Juice Supernatural Wax Machine Stick. Rub it on your pad and off you go.

I've tried doing it by machine but generally prefer doing it by hand. With a machine it's easier to put on a thin even coat. I always softened paste waxes before applying them anyway. If it's warm outside, just set it in the sunlight for a while before use. If it's cold out, I set it in a warm place inside first like on top of the dryer or on near the stove (not on top of the burners) while it's on. Scoop a little out by hand or with a knife and smear it across the pad. The heat from the polisher will soften it up and help it spread evenly.

If you use your PC to apply your paste wax, I'd recommend applying it using no more than speed 2 or 3 on your PC. Personally, I apply all of my LSPs by hand, but it's personal preference. Also as an FYI, you'll use more product applying the wax by machine.

if you can remove the paste you can rub it into the buffer. but pastes aren't really supposed to be applied with the buffer. you wipe it on, let it set/cure/haze and then you can buff it off w/ the slowest setting on the softest pad.
other than that, you don't need the buffer.

Sealant needs anywhere from 12 to 24 hours to cure before applying a wax over it. Just let it sit doing nothing.
It's a daunting task for most folks, but check out the Ask a Professional Detailer thread and just read several pages at your leisure. You will be very knowledgeable by the time you get to the end.
