Right, I know they are not a good alternative since they use harsh chemicals, but how could they cause swirls if all you do is just let the blower dry off your car and not wipe down? And how much wax would it really strip?

They blow contamination on your paint so it just slides on your paint causing swirls I believe. Also they use alot of soap that removes your wax. When I first got my car, I wax it and went to a car wash and I notice water didn't bubble up on my car no more with just one wash . I don't go to car washes no more

I don't agree that a touchless car wash creates swirl marks. I think drying the car after a touchless car wash will give you swirl marks for sure. Do to the wash not removing all the dirt and you rubbing it into you paint by drying it.

I think touchless washes will remove some of your wax though. I will use a touchless wash if it is forcasted to rain soon and I can handle my car being dirty. I will then do a hand wash and quick wax job soon there after.

Yep. This is the 2nd black car I've owned. It's the best looking color when it's clean - and the worst looking color when it's dirty.
