Help! Crap on my window from gas station squeegee

So I stopped at the gas station a few days ago and while I was filling up I decided to quickly squeegee some spots of of my driver side window. Big mistake. After I did the first pass I noticed some sticky gun was now smudged across the glass. I assumed it was just some bug guts and tried to wash it off with the squeegee again, but after the second pass it just got worse. I quickly stopped and grabbed a paper towel to try and wipe if off but it just spread out thinner. Unfortunately I was in a rush to meet some people so I had to go. I tried scrubbing it off this morning with some paper towels and soapy water to no avail.

I'm not sure what the substance is, it's almost like melted rubber and it has a greenish tint. Any tips on how I should attack it? I'm not really sure what compounds are safe to use on windows, but this stuff is pissing me off!

Thanks for the help!

Use 3M™ Adhesive and Wax Remover, it should remove road oil debris / tar / road paint / etc

Why not a glass scraper, you know the razor blade inside a holder type from Home Depot? I don't think that would scratch the glass if done carefully. Maybe Goo Gone?

Paint thinner, Goo-Gone, Rubbing alcohol.

Be VERY careful not to get it on the paint.
