magnet stuck on g
ive been away for the past few months and it is required by law to have a magnet on my car displaying my "new driver" status
the weater is hot and the magnet seems to have fused onto the back of my car
its stuck on reallllly hard i cant get it off, ive just used brute force to try and pick it off only got about half of it
ive tried using a blow dryer, wd40, boiling water and then cold water to loosen it but its not working
im probably going to have to get the area repainted because the clear coat has come off and is scrated / swirled up
can anyone please give me some tips? should i use ammonium? does anyone know any good strong adhesives that will remove it without damaging the paint?

You probably won't be able to heat it enough to demagnetize it but if you have an old speaker with a magnet you can try rubbing it randomly(back n forth and around) to demagnetize it. Then try getting dental floss behind it to get leverage to pull it off. Polish afterwords to remove the scratches, see the detailing section.
One of these I take it.

a total of 3 years you need a magnet
1 year for a learners with an L sign
and 2 years for new driver with a N sign
although u have the option to hang it from ur back window but my windows are tinted
i just finished getting it off actually, just was patient and picked at it, kept heating it up and clay bar and polished it after it doesnt look tooo bad but i think i will eventually get it repainted
anyone know how much the total would come to around? is spot treatment avaliable? or would i have to paint the whole trunk?
thanks guys!

What do the scratches look like? Can you pick at them with your nails.. if you cant feel the scratches then a buffers can buff them out.. but if you can feel them then u will have to repaint also go to a body shop and see if they can use touch up paint.. repainting the whole trunk witll cost you.. i wanted to do my door and i was quoted $400, for one little scratch..so they used touch up paint on it instead..

Yikes. I've heard of the same happening to the breast cancer, support the troops, etc. ribbons.
I imagine you can have a bodyshop blend the the clear depending on the location of the magnet.
