PC vs Flex Orbital Buffers
#17
Probably not, a newer model is due out in a month or two, the Porter Cable 7424XP. It has a slightly bigger motor than the current version and operates up to 6,800 OPM. Unless we have any remaining stock when the new buffer comes in, I don't think there will be any promotions on the PC.
To be honest, there isn't much margin on the tools we sell such it is a competitive market. All said and done we make about $10 on each PC we sell. Our biggest discounts show in our packages we put together, which chances are you'll end up buying most of anyways.
Cheers,
George

6,800 OPM vs 9,600 OPM + 480 RPM
4.5 amp motor vs 7.5 amp motor...
It's not much of an upgrade from the current PC. If you're on the brink of buying a PC 7424, it's probably worth holding off a month or so to get the updated model if you don't plan on going for a Flex.
Hope that helps.
George
