Paint Sealant?

Hi,

I am taking delivery of my new G37 sedan this weekend. I am thinking about getting a paint sealant from http://www.embassyautowash.com/detailing.asp. Is this a good idea?

Thanks.

I wouldn't do that. First, I've never seen any "paint sealant" last a full year....that's bogus (and a rip-off for over $100). Secondly, you could buy a bottle of Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket paint sealant from www.detailedimage.com (which is on sale for $29.99 right now), apply it yourself after you wash/clay your new car. The Menzerna will usually last 3-6 months depending on how often you drive, your driving conditions, etc. Much more durable than a carnauba wax, but you can layer wax on top of sealant for a more "wet" look.
Congrats on the upcoming purchase of your G...you're gonna love it! Hope this helps.

I have some Chemical Guys Jet Seal 109 on the way right now. Should be here in a couple hours.

Waste of money. Pick up a good quality sealant like FMJ and you are all set for a long time.

Just get some FMJ. I love that stuff. It is so easy to put on and take off and actually last compared to wax.

FMJ or JS109... I like Jet Seal 109 better though.
