Horror at the Infiniti carwash
Hello guys I just wanted to share my story with you all so no BO cars will ever suffer the same fate. I know I am probably preaching to the choir here but just in case...
So I got my prokit(from Andy, thanks man), and installed at my local shop and allowed it to settle for approximately 2 weeks. I decided to go and get it aligned this morning. When I got there, I specifically told the service guy... "DO NOT wash my car please". He acknowledged and about 2 hours later when I came to pick up the car. It was in the middle of that swirl maker of doom! I can't begin to tell you how bad it looks right now. It felt like the car in front of mines went off roading or something. Anyway... please put a sticky note on your steering wheel and have it say "DO NOT WASH THIS CAR". Please learn from my mistake.. even if you tell them specifically not to, they might forget. Take care everyone!

What really got to me was I told them ahead of time. I wouldn't place blame on them if I was one of the 6 other people waiting in line to get their car washed (on purpose).
They offered to detail the car on monday... but I'm a little concerned cause I hear they just put some glaze over it and call it a day. Any thoughts? Should I do it myself or find a reputable detailer to do it for me?

Yeah, my dealership put a nice scratch the length of a middle finger on the roof of my car. At least they were good about it and fixed it for me (well , you can still see it a bit). Just the other day when I went in for the airbag TSB, they washed my car for me (my fault since i forgot to tell them not to), but this time I didn't notice anything. As much as I love taking care of my car, I am starting to get a bit lazy...

I hate taking my car to the dealer too, I'm sure if they smacked my bumper on a curb they would say its because I'm lowered on coils.

I never let the dealer wash my car or anyone but me... Not bashing dealers or anyone else but you are going to be more particular about your car than someone else. For example... If you drop your wash mit on the ground by accident, you'll probably get a new one. I doubt the dealer is gonna do that. They will probably just wash it out in the bucket. Unfortunately that's all it takes is a piece of grit to cause a clearcoat nightmare.
