Bird Droppings : (

Before I washed my car today I noticed 2 brown splats which looked like bird droppings. After washing I noticed that in certain light, the marks were still visible but not brown anymore, they looked clear, does this mean its eaten through my clear coat? What can i do to try to remove these marks?? Thank you.

while bird presents are harsh for your finish, it hopefully appears to be just a clear coat staining

try a claybar first if theyre still there, try a mild polish, or a cleaner wax.

If still there, try a heavier compound using a buffer.

I highly recommend everyone get bird droppings off their paint quickly. For this, I keep some QD in my trunk. Bird dropping can quickly etch the clearcoat and you'll see it forever.

For the OP... Seer has a good suggestion regarding the Claybar and a mild polish. This should do the trick. It doesn't sound like it etched your CC.

For bird bombs and etching the typical removal process is...

1. Quick Detailer
2. Claybar
3. Polish

Never let birds get near my car, always use covered parking for long term for short term, I enable the system...good out to 5nm.
