Tree Sap on clear bra??

I have some pine tree sap on my clear bra covered hood. I'm not at home right now and I could only get all but a film of the sap off with meguiars and a microfiber... it's like I can see exactly where it was and it is still sticky there. I'm thinking goo gone when I get home... Any of the detailing gurus here have any advice for safely removing all traces of it? Remember, the sap is on the clear bra, not the paint.

TIA

A good wash and some clay bar should do it. Don't use Goo Gone.

I had my truck detailed yesterday and the parking lot at my school was all trees so the poor thing was covered in sap. My detailer got it all off, and told me the best thing for it is rubbing alcohol and a little bit of elbow grease. I knew there was a lot of sap on it and I checked last night and it really is all gone, so it might be worth a try. My truck doesn't have a clear bra though, but I can't see why the rubbing alcohol would work any different on paint than on a clear bra. Hope that helps.

I have clear bra too and had been told not to clay the surface. Try using "Plexus" to polish it out.

I have my entire front end clear bra'd ant clad bar did squat for getting the spot left behind by bugs, sap, etc. It's not what's been recommended, but I treated it just like the paint and got everything off. I used the PC with Menzerna SIP, followed by PO106FF, followed by PBW EX, followed by Migliore wax. No problems at all. I tried Plexus and all it did was make the stain slick and shiny, didn't remove it. It also seems to be more resistant to bugs and grime than it was before.

Thanks for the replies. I also remember reading here about not using a clay bar on a clear bra. I think that's a good idea. After using goo gone to remove all of the sap that could be felt, I was left with scratches from the first day just trying to get it off with the quick detailer and a new microfiber cloth. I could also still see exactly where the sap had been. I then used a Porter Cable and some rubbing compound on it as the installers said it could be buffed just like paint. It did in fact polish perfectly, all scratches were completely eliminated. I can still see right were the sap was but only in the reflection of the over head lights in the garage, the angle/reflection has to be perfect, otherwise it is invisible. In natural light outdoors it is also virtually impossible to see, you have to see the sun reflecting right off the bad spot or you cannot see it at all. Sooo, I'm okay about it.

AGAIN, I DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING POSTED ON THIS SITE, ESPECIALLY FROM SOME!!
