3M Clear Bra users.

i know there are already a lot of clear bra related threads out there, but i couldnt find one with just feedback on the 3M one.

planning on getting the full front done within the next month or so and i just wanted to see how its been working out for those of you who already have it.

any discoloring? peeling? or just any overall problems with it?

I have had the front and the full hood done. Got it done on 1-16 and no discoloring, as far as I can tell. No clouding. The only thing is DO NOT let it sit in the sun after being watered on by sprinklers with reclaimed water. Water spots are burned into the bra.

Love mine....had it on my G35, and just had it installed again on my G37. There are plenty of products out there to take good care of it, and once you get the hang of it, it's easy it just becomes another part of the cleaning routine.

No I didn't do a DIY but somebody did one for a DVD player. Just substitute the PS2 for the DVD player.

I dont really recommend 3M ScotchGuard. It has a lot of orange peel in it. Try ClearMask AR or VentureShield. Out of all the films I have installed, these two are by far the best.

Yup, without knowing the sprinkler water burn in, I have permanent water spots on my hood(with clear bra).

+1 for ClearMask AR, just had the film installed and it is the most transparent film I've had on the G. I have own two previous G35 both w/ VentureShield and ClearMask beats it in transparency. However, I don't know about the strength of the ClearMask film as it relates to protection, but I am sure I will find out!

It is very good and is backed with a lifetime warranty. I have been installing it 4+ years and have never had a single customer come back due to degradation of the film.

I can send you some pics if you PM me your email adress. I can also sell it directly to you for a better price than you would get at ClearMask.com

Go to the grocery store and buy a bottle of apple cider vinegar. Make a solution of 50/50 vinegar and water. Spray on a good coat, let stand for a minute or two and wipe dry with a microfiber cloth. If paranoid, you can rinse with water after wiping. Depending how bad the spotting is it make take a few applications over a couple of days to clear up.
