Just joined this site after 2 weeks with new G37. Traded in a 325XI for the G37. G is much better (BMW is overpriced and this car rocks!!), and there is a lot of great info here.
Question: any suggestion on which sealant to use on the platinum graphite paint?
Try Rejex after a clay, with a Mother's or other PURE Carnauba wax on top... I am now going on my 3rd coat of Mother's on top of Rejex... the car is a mirror most of the time (except for pollen).
I read somewhere that you either use glaze and wax or sealant and wax. Not all 3 cause they dont play nice together. Any thoughts/experiences?
Not true. Glaze fills in and helps hide (doesn't correct) small scratches and swirls and enhances the glossiness of the finish. It gives no protection. Sealant goes on top of glaze to protect the finish for a long time (3 to 6 months). It also won't correct swirls or scratches but shines and adds gloss. Some sealants have carnuba wax in them (PBW EX is one). Sealants need to cure at least 12 to 24 hours before adding a second coat or wax on top of it. Wax offers limited protection for a short time (a few weeks) but man does it ever add gloss to your finish.
