Dealership Scratched my G

Dealership Scratched my G
So I had the G in for some warranty work and I got a call that a vallet bumped my car and somehow put a scratch down the rear quarter panel to the door.
First of all, how does a "bump" do this exactly?
Secondly, they already took the car to the body shop to fix it.
I have asked for them to e-mail me pictures of the damage first.
I'm kind of at a loss for words right now, really just pissed off at the situation more so than the service guy.
Should I call my insurance company? Advice? Comforting words? Encouragement to raise hell?

Encouragement granted.
I'd go and demand to see the car myself and make an assessment from there.

yeah i'd go see the car for yourself and demand that they fix it. If they don't fix it, i'd demand that they will pay for your fees to fix it at a body shop. If it's not your fault, you shouldn't be paying for it. Just my .02

that freakin' sucks
dunno about reporting it to insurance, get an estimate first
should be out of a car for 3 days to re-paint, but after that you're good! no biggie

Thanks for the notes everyone. Still pending any pictures but as long as they paint the car and it look pretty much perfect, then I'm okay with their boo boo. Did I mention I'm going to ask for a free oil change?

That sucks but who cares as long as it looks good as new when you get it back, they give you a loaner in the meantime and you were compensated for the trouble with a free oil change.
At least they called you and let you instead of trying to give the car back to you without noticing and playing dumb.

Exactly, once again why I like to work on my own car.
Based on this experience I feel more confident about this Infiniti dealership. I received the picture and there was no other damage other than a pretty light scratch. If it wasn't so long we may not have noticed it until it was too late.

i've had a bunch of problems with my dealership and because of that i have an open file with the Infiniti company itself. They've gotten me everything ive wanted in terms of repair/reimbursment from my dealership.
If the sales/service departments give you a hard time, go ahead and give infiniti a call, i'm sure they'll do whats right.

I've had problems like this with a local dealer - but not this severe.
At least they admitted doing it.
Definitely go look at to make sure that it's just a paint problem and not dented also.
What color do you have? Some colors are harder to match than others.
