Any Tips for Bird Poo

A bird dropped some nasty on my black 37...I cleaned up the mess but it seems to have left a mark which will not come out. Anyone have experience with this? Clay Bar, rubbing compound, wax, polish to tidy up the mess? If so, what brands do you prefer? Any help would be appreciated

Wash the area. Wax should do the job. If not then claybar it.

That is why car cover=light dust scratches but always > to bird poop

when bird poop sits for too long, the acid eats at the coat...and no amount of waxing or rubbing compound will take it off....had one on my Z and took it to 10 detailing/auto body places...none of them helped

Hahahahaha.

Wash with soap would do it, if not, I recommend Mequiar's clay bar kit. $20 or so.

Ugghhhh - that's too bad. I have used Griot's Garage Fine Hand Polish (use up and down and then, back and forth; a grid pattern); followed by their Best of Show Wax. I have used many of their products with excellent outcomes. Just my $0.02 worth.

Sweet...good suggestions! I will give wash, clay bar a spin. I hear what your saying cvt..parking in LA is bad enough...and then the birds with their acid shiz. I am about ready to hire somebody to stand guard with a microfiber, duster and some instant detailer!

Another suggestion would be to use a spray wax after each washing. While the car is still wet, use a little spray wax and wipe it off with the water. A very quick and easy way to wax your car.

The other suggestions are excellent, get rid of the fecal matter as soon as possible. I always carry a little quick detail spray and microfiber for just those incidents.

I do the same...I thought I was the only joker riding around with a full detail center in my trunk! I had to show that to my lady..she thinks I've lost my mind!

I get a couple of Bounty paper towels, soak it with very warm water and just put it right on top of the poop. About a minute later it is dissolved and you do not have to rub it off, which is when you damage the paint.

Even when you do everything right, there will always be a mark left, however faint.

How long was the mess sitting on that spot before yoe cleaned it up? Usually if it sits for too long and if the sun gets to it, it's the most difficult to get out, even with a clay bar kit. Their sh*t is just so damn acidic. My gf left some on her car's hood and I've clay bared that thing twice and it the stain is still there. I looked closely at the spot and the paint actually looks cracked in that particular spot.

+1 Don't let it sit in the sun, if you do then you will always have some mark left over.

If the crap doesn't sit there that long, then its no problem cleaning it. Try avoid scrubbing it, I usually just try and rinse it. That seems to do the job from my experience. Just take care of it once you see it, that is the best thing to do.
