I put up a wetsanding DIY a long time ago, I will re-post it if you guys think it's a good idea. For the most part it was well received but some guys thought it was a bad idea for the same reason redlude97 mentioned.

if you take your car to get detailed
will they polish and remove the swirl marks as well as apply a sealent or wax?
i need to do alot of work on the paint inlcuding a few touch up spots in the near future
I do not own a CP so I wont be able to do much
but i could clay the car and apply a sealent....which is why i wanted to know what 4* UPP or Acrylic Jett are?
thanks

Hey thanks for the very informative posts. I wash and wax my car once in a while but only recently stumbled upon the whole claybar, polish, and other finish touches.
Also, on average, how long does it take you to wash/wax your car? I usually wash my car once every 3 months [which is awful I know]. I still have some perfecting to do with my car washing procedure.

I have a 2010 Black Infiniti, about 3 months old. What kind of polish would you recommend for new paint? I do have minor swirls done by the dealer when I initially took ownership of my car back in November.

Absolutely amazing writeup. I will actually personally be using this thread as input to practice detailing on my DD. Then once I feel comfortable enough will be detailing the G and our FX.
Will continue to update, thank you so much for taking the time to write this.

Great posts BTW. I assume I want to wash the car and get it as clean as possible before I clay it, right? Also, I had never heard the term "rail dust" but my 09 G37x is my first white car and I live in central NY (lots of snow and road salt) and I have lots of little orage specks. I was wondering if I need to wax with a cleaner-type wax or something bit it seems like your answer is to use the clay.
Thanks in advance.
