Ottawa G37 owners...

So, as a G37 owner of course when I see another G37 on the road I feel like the exclusivity is on the decline - and last night I saw 4 G37's in the matter of a few hours....

First G I saw was at the Rideau Carleton Raceway Casino - with the license plate "1ST G37" in white - I thought "nogoodname" was the first owner though and isn't he from Montreal?

Second G I saw was at the Bob McQuarie Sportsplex in Orleans - it was black...

Third G I saw was a white one near Somerset St. kinda between China Town and Little Italy..

And the fourth was a plat. graphite one in Minto Place (parking garage)...

Any of the owners of these on this forum? Please return your car to the dealership as I now feel less exclusive!!!

nogoodname007 is only the first on the forum lol.

Wow 4 G37? I have yet to see any. I guess the incentive are working. None of them were me yet though, holding back for a 09 and will most likely go with Sport over the X. Unless I can get a killer deal on a 08, I like the idea of the 7AT. "TG" just contacted me and they're saying they won't sell their 09 until end of this month again (3rd time they're pushing it back) since they have to many 08 left. Selling a sport coupe in winter, they are maketing genius I tell you .

You can use each of these factors to your advantage:

1. They have too much stock and want to clear their lot...
2. They are selling sports cars in the winter...
3. A new model year has come out (so 08's are even more attractively priced)...
4. Auto economy isn't redhot...

You bring all these to the bargaining table and you will have the upper hand... I'm sure they are selling 08's to everyone for "at" or "under" VPP pricing...

Here is the breakdown VPP pricing for a 2008 G37S...
(MSRP = $49,950 + $1,695 + 13% tax = $58,358)

VPP Dealer Invoice = $45,500

+ Freight, PDI, gas tax = $1,695

- VPP discount = $1,200

- Cash Incentive = $4,500

Plus 2.5% and delivery charge = $1,845

= $43,340 + 13% tax = $48,974 (on the road)

If you do better than this - you can feel confident that you got a great deal!

The "Cash Incentive" above was from August so it could be more now...

When the saleman says what number would make you happy -- start negotiating for an "on the road/tax in" price at $46k...

Techuinang,

Was that Tony Graham? I was there last weekend and they did not seemed that interested on the sale, that was my impression, they offered me MSRP and did not talk about any incentives, they only had 2 coupes, 1 6MT, 1 auto.

If you are looking right now maybe we can join forces to get better pricing.

Yea, I'm talking about them. I did not like the way I was treated, like very nonchalant, as if they got the bigger end of the stick LOL. The 1st time I went there, I had a great 1st impression. The 2nd and 3rd (in a span of a year) has been like pulling teeth. I don't know, TG lexus's sale service is top notch, I can't say the same about their Infiniti division.

Yes I'm looking to purchase right now. I'm willing to pay close to msrp for the 09 but they won't release it. As for the 08, I have a price (very low one) in my head that I'm not willing to go above. I keep my car 10+ years, so to me $10K difference between 08 and 09 is not even enough, I need more. 08 is already the old model, they artificially make it the current one by holding the 09 up which are already here. As you can see from my registring date, I'm patient, I can wait a little longer.

I live around Hunt club and the airport so both dealership are far. I'll give my business to whoever wants it the most.

Techuinang,

Did you deal with Chris B. at TG on all 3 ocassions? Or a different pair of sales feet each time? I can only sing praises for my treatment by Chris B. Whereas, when I went to the other dealership in Ottawa (417) I was kept waiting for 15 minutes to get a salesman (unacceptable in my books) then when I did get one - he didn't talk to me during the test drive - wouldn't budge on price - told me I didn't qualify for VPP (even though actually I did) and didn't take me seriously. Sucks for him - since he's on commission.

I guess it all depends on the day and the pair of sales feet you get on that day at any dealership...

Loki,

You have an email of Chris by any chance? At this point I'm going to send emails to all dealerships in the region inquiring to get me quotes, I'll deal by email and I'll see I can get a price I'm satisfied with.

Loki123, yes I delt with Chris B all 3 times. The second time, he walked right in front of me and didn't even awknoledged me. Third time he refused to give me a quote on my trade in and even had to insist 3 times before he gave in (I had warned him ahead of time that was the reason I came in that day). Anyways, I don't mean to bash him, who knows, maybe it was a bad day which everyone have once in a while. I really like TG Lexus division, and am still in contact with the manager there and after I told him my experience with the Infiniti division, he told me I should buy my car elsewhere and not give them my business.

zap_ingo, this is Chris's email: cbrieger@grahamnissan.com
But they will refuse to give you any price quote via email, but that's common practice for any dealership. I will buy my car wherever it will be the cheapest. I'll worry about service later.

But right now I must admit I am fed up with both dealerships and Infiniti in general. I am even starting to consider an Audi or a Lexus now...

4 G37s in one day? I think I've probably seen one in the past four months! There's a few G35's in my town that I see around (including the coupe and the newer sedan) fairly often, but I don't think there's a single other G37 in my town. So I'm still pretty exclusive

Techuinang --> could be he was having a bad day - I suppose everone's experience is unique. He has since day 1 rolled out the red carpet for me and I appreciate that. I gave him full honour's on the Infiniti score card survey as well as the third party survey I recieved from Maritz Research (in which Maritz cut me a whopping cheque for $5 to fill it out..

And I agree with you that when you aren't treated seriously or with respect you want to blacklist that company - I hear ya! But at the end of the day for me aside from any dealership or salesman - it came down to vechile specs and VPP price - essentially I got a $60k car that is more curvaceous than any BMW or Lexus for $48k and it was worth every penny...

Add 1 more to the Ottawa Region 09G37X Coupe

Ordered mine in August from 401 Dixie Infiniti in Mississauga... these guys always have the latest and greatest inside info as they are next door to the Cdn head office... I ordered mine then.. it shipped from Vancouver 3 weeks ago and is sitting in a warehouse (out of site) until Infiniti releases the 09's... my dealer tried to get it to me this week but has been pushed off by corporate until next, will know for sure by Friday.
MSRP Pricing has dropped drastically on the 09's compared to the 08's thats why they can't get rid of the remaining 09's as word is out that you can get a new 09 for the same price as a clearance priced 08.
So.... no brainer... 09 for me !
Have dealt with TG service for my M and they have been great except for generally being really busy and having to wait 3 or 4 weeks for an appointment... but booking ahead knowing this, avoids that situation.
I'll update this forum when I actually receive.
Safe Driving...

So that makes 4 members from Ottawa haha.

I'm thinking I'll wait after winter to buy my car now. With snow coming, it would be a rush to find and get winters on. And with the ****ty economy, it would probably be a better idea to sit on that money until things get a little better.
