We just need someone who is super enthusiastic to rally the people. But we're definitely a very "chill" group of G37 owners...

Hey 3334ME, I saw that you wrote TT in your signature. Is your G twin turbo charged? And if so, where did you get it done?

Damn, well no harm in asking. It seems like there are a couple of placed in the US where we can get turboed, but not in Canada. I'm sure our cars can handle like 500hp :S

there are places in canada that will do it. BC and alberta both have places. However i am going to the source for my GTM SC. Cali road trip for me this spring was going to be march but my passport will be away getting a work visa put in ti for russia. Toronto has to have local shops that can do a TT set up.

There are places in T.O. that do turbo. Off hand, I believe Redline in Scarborough will do turbo mods.

Cop loved the G37...

Got pulled over on the 400 because I didn't have a front plate on my 2008 G37 Coupe (imported it from US). Cop came over and said how much he loves the G37's but he doesn't see many of them on the road.

He cut me loose without a ticket. THANKS OFFICER! And, yes, it's a wicked car!

How long have you had the G with no front plates before getting pulled over by the cops?

I was without front plates for almost 3 years before being pulled over. Good thing he got a emergency call and had to run after giving me a warning... Nice to see a cop pull a u-turn while burning rubber on the street

I must have bad luck -- my old G35 was also a US vehicle so I had no front plate -- got pulled over TWICE in the span of 2 months. The second cop gave me a ticket but the charges were dropped when I showed the prosecutor that I put the plate on.

As for my G37, I only registered it a month ago. I suppose I was lucky that i didn't get a ticket. Alas, I was at the stealership doing some warranty work and had them put on the front plate bracket.

Haha the Toronto G guys do seem pretty lazy... personally I have an 09 STI and am part of the Toronto Subaru Club, who has weekly meetings around the GTA lol...

I'd be down for a meetup sometime in the summer... July, maybe? On a Saturday?

As for exciting roads... well you'd have to venture outside of Toronto for those!

There are lots of much more exciting roads up North of Peterborough... sometime in the Summer, hop on the 401 East, take highway 115 North to Peterborough, then head up Highway 28 (towards Bancroft).... that is the small highway I take up to my cottage, speed limit is 80 km if I remember, lots of turns, lakes, 1 waterfall.... honestly if you have a day and you are like man I'm bored, lets go for a drive.... I recommend this one! lol.

The road my cottage is off of is actually considered to be one of the top sportbike roads in Canada...fairly twisty, lots of elevation changes, very scenic. I will be taking my STI up that road next summer .

Canadian144, how long of a drive is it to get to your cottage (from downtown T.O let's say)?

Any LCBOs nearby? lol

Haha sounds good... except my cottage is small, and so is the driveway... but there is a resort nearby with a full 18 hole golf course! Though the resort is pretty awful. But you guys could sleep in your G's, if you park them in my driveway! I think there is also a trailer park close by, if that is more your taste! lol.

Maybe I should come up in my dad's F150 instead, bring my ATV with me, show you guys what FAST really is! lol. 0-100 km/h in under 5 seconds... yup sounds fast to me!

CarAddict, yes as a matter of fact there are 2 closeby! lol. And the drive length all depends on the car, driver and traffic.... I think our family's record is my dad back in 03 or 04, I think 2 hours and 15 mins, I'm pretty sure traffic was light and we were in the 5.9L Durango R/T.... according to google maps expected time is 3 hours!

If you guys are actually ever interesting in doing the drive... look up "Harcourt, Ontario" on google maps. You will see a Highway called Highway 10 going northbound... well just follow that on google maps all the way until you reach a place called Maynooth. May not look too interesting on google maps, but the elevation changes are quite dramatic! If you are up there in the fall, it is really, really beautiful! Once you see the town of Maynooth on the map, you will see Highway 127 coming out of the town, that highway basically goes right through Algonquin park, again very scenic, I haven't been on it in a while (since I was a kid!) but I think the speed limit is also 80km/h, you see lots of wildlife and there are a few places to open it up. You can go through the park until you hit Parry sound or Huntsville, both are fairly large Muskoka towns. Personally I think a nice weekend trip would be to leave Saturday morning, drive the route I described till you get to Huntsville, stay in one of the resorts for a night, then head back home on the 400 around noon, you would be back before 4 PM I think.

/end novel/Frommers tour guide of the areas near my cottage. haha.
