Buying a 2008 G37s. Extended warranty from Lexus Dealer?
Hello, I am buying a 2008 G37s with 77k miles from a Lexus dealer near me. They offered me a Lexus Extra Care Platinum warranty with the car stating the warranty would allow for the work to be done by an Infiniti dealer.
The warranty would amount to about $50 added to my monthly payment. Would this be a good deal, or a waste?
This is the brochure I was handed.

Put the $50/month in your own savings account
You didn't mention the purchase price of the vehicle but with any used car purchase you should have a couple of thousand in reserve to cover any unforeseen issues.
Also have the vehicle thoroughly inspected by an Infiniti dealer and have them run the VIN number for a vehicle history.
Use any deficiencies to negotiate the purchase price lower.
Good Luck

Meh, that's some ok advice but I wouldn't just skip it. It's a used vehicle so even though the CarFax can come up clean it doesn't mean it hasn't been wrecked or tampered with. Not even close. Depending on the level of warranty and what it covers it could be well worth it. I got a Silver warranty fro Lexus when buying my coupe and the headlight solenoid went out and the high beam was stuck on. In turn, it wouldn't pass inspection. They replaced the entire headlight for free, without the warranty I would have been out $100's in just the first few days..
