Thoughts on requested price?
Hey everyone,
Looking at getting a new 2013 G37x this weekend. I've been talking with a rep online and they have one that has an MSRP of $38,110.00. Right away he said he could sell it to me for $35,790.00.
I looked at Truecar.com and they show sells of the same car and options go for as low as $33,207.00.
Would it be an insult to request the car at $33,207.00? Will they take me serious?
Thanks for the help.

Worst thing is they say "no"; plus you are using the truecar number, its not like you pulled that number out of your.....
I would insist on the truecar number and might get a better pricing than $35,790.00
Hey, its the end of the month and they might want to cut a deal.

Yeah, I have a "certificate" from Truecar.com that a dealer North of me will sell for $34,567.00. So I know I'll at least get it for that price. Just that dealer is a little out of my way.
Will start out at the $33,207.00 and see how it goes.

Bought mine (new G37X sedan) on Sunday for 32,000. Premium, no nav.
The only way to negotiate as a buyer is to have more than one seller bidding for the chance to make the sale. Then, be fair and honest with both, but also be perfectly willing to make no purchase at all. I mean, really, have it in your mind that its OK if you don't buy. Good salespeople are nearly mind readers. You have to credibly mean what you say.
If you do this, good things can happen.
Note, my advice has nothing to say about True Car one way or the other. That's not the market. You get to determine the market.
