Should I get an extended warranty?

I'm thinking about buying either a '10 or '11 G37 convertible. Of the ones I've looked at, miles range between 15k and 38k. Lower miles on the '11 typically. I'll still have a while under factory warranty with either option but my question is: is an extended warranty worth getting? Looks like it'll cost about $2,300 for a 3-year warranty. An '11 is a few grand more than a '10 but maybe its worth spending that in order to get the extra year of factory warranty?

I bought a 2010 convertible G37 S with 22 months left on the warranty. I had the car certified and the warranty extended for 2 more years for $1,400 (total of almost 4 years). The convertible top is a complex machine with so many moving parts, that I didn't feel comfortable with anything less. The only thing the extended warranty doesn't cover is the radio and navigation.

Thanks. Are rates on extended warranty negotiable?

buy a CPO one and get a wrap warranty, going to be best bang for the buck. Most warranties have about 1k in them profitability, so not huge margins but they are there. Keep in mind though, they will make money on a warranty, they do not break even or lose money on them as there would be no point, it's not like a car

i assump buying a vert mean you'll enjoy the top down most of the time as much as you can and like zdubin said vert top is complicated and has so many components, its expensive to fix thing fix with the top so i would suggest you get the extended warranty .
