How does everyone get a cheap lease with not much money down?

Hello everyone....
So i started looking at leases since i seem to get in and out of cars pretty fast and i think at this point its safe to say i will probably always stay with the Infiniti brand (05 G35x -> 05 G coupe -> 06 FX35-current). Ive only leased once before (07 TSX) and i ended up trading it in before the lease was up and it ended up being a good experience so....

I spoke with the two dealers in my area (Cleveland - Airport Infiniti and Infiniti of Bedford) and got two quotes for a red 2013 G37xS (premium, nav, sport, ill kick plates)

Airport infiniti emailed me the quote so i could see the figures:
"" 24 month lease
12k miles a year
$45,565 MSRP
$41,861 Selling price
70% residual
0.00010 Money Factor
Summit County tax at $704.87 which may change depending on trade value.
$781.03 Duue at signing
$481.28 a month
Each additional 1,000 down will impact the payment about 40 a month.
""
Infiniti of bedford was at ~$589 with $1500 down(Same car) so i didnt even bother with them. I think he was using MSRP, where Airport Infiniti discounted to the selling price without any negotiation.

Also looking to trade in my 06 FX35 but i owe around $17.5 for it still and they havnt looked at it yet so im not sure where i stand with trade in on that either.

So im just wondering what i could try to make the deal better? I see so many people on here post that they are paying ~$350 or so with little money down and im at $481 - granted this is there first quote and i havnt even tried to get it lower yet....

Thanks for any suggestions!

Someone correct me, but doesn't .00010 money factor equate to 24% interest??

It should be .000010, which is 2.4%
Oh yeah, the unintended "mistakes" made by lease agents!!
If you dont catch those they will screw you good!!

Thanks, i missed that conversion.

So yes that is 24%. What is a standard interest rate on a lease?

My credit score is around 750 so i would think i should get a really good rate....

Wouldn't actually happen becuase you can only mark up about 2% so it would get kicked back by Infiniti. So it was a legitame mistake. Also some places omit 1 decimal point so instead of using 2400 you use 240. Not all dealers are the same.

If youw ant PM me, Ill give you a best deal and you can take it to them and have them match it. Also timing is everything, incentives are changing constantly and slight differences that may not be mentioned in someone's post could mean a huger difference.

That is a terrible deal. You put 0 money down on a lease...I really don't see why anyone does that. You're supposed to roll everything into your payments.

The way people get deals is through leasing companies, not dealerships. Especially during promotions (you should wait for the Christmas/New Year's promotions since you're so close already).

Leasing companies have more leeway with pricing and will always give you a better deal than a dealership. It's like comparing a big retail store like Macy's to an individual store like Hugo Boss. It is more expensive in the brand name store for absolutely no reason.

You must bargain. You should find a good price for the cars right now and aim to get lower. Keep calling and bargaining, try speaking to different people at the leasing companies and whatnot. I think everything rolled in, a G37x should be around ~$360/m +$200 registration when you pick it up. Nothing else.

I know there are some more dealers in ohio (columbus and down by cincinatti) that i havent checked yet.

i guess it would depend on what deal they would be able to offer...(picked up my fx in St Louis - 10 hour drive) I was looking to stay under $400/mo - more closer to the $350 mark.

If it helps any...I just leased a G37x coupe w/ premium, NAV, lighted kick plates, all weather mats, trunk liner/net...$1,500 down / $447 / month. That's a little more than I would normally put down on a lease, but I'll probably buy out after lease since the residual is good and the warranty is pretty long. It had a MSRP of just over $48K.

Edit: Just don't be afraid to walk away...and negotiate the selling price BEFORE you even tell them whether you're buying or leasing.

My $.02

Never tell a dealer you are interested in leasing.

Start getting internet quotes.
Visit the dealer for test drives
Negotiate price and options and tell them you are paying cash
Only after you get a good price inquire about leasing
I've never leased. Too complicated and costly

Never ever sign anything on day 1. It has to be a "process" and you have to be willing to play the game for the long haul. Let them think they have you and then leave, they will call back and then you've got em'.

Well the national Ad is
$319 for 24 months
10k a year
$41,889 MSRP
$3,199 Due at signing.

Your on a $45,565 MSRP car
$481 a month with $781 due at signing and 12k lease.

Sale price is pretty good if its a 13, if its a 12 they might be able to do better.

Either way your are $2418 short on down payment and 162 a month away from the national on a Journey Premium and on a $4k more car.

Its not bad for a 13 sport but if its a 12, i think they can do better.
