Leasing or buying a used car
1st post here. Still deciding which route to take and never leased a car before so anway. Let me know which one would be a wise choice.
Option 1.)
My local dealer offered me a deal. 18mo lease a G37x sedan premium, sport package with nav.
cap cost 42,500
total cap with tax and doc fee 43,350
cap reduced 2,622.78
net cap 40,727.22
residual 79% 35,617.15
total depreciation 5110.07
depreciation 283.89
rent 21.38
subtotal 305.27
tax 29.92
monthly payment 335.19
Total due/down payment 3,500
Is this a good deal? I would like to get a longer term 38/mo lease but monthly will increase 100/mo.
Option 2.) 09 g37x with tech, nav and sport package. 26k with 45k miles.
Cars for Sale: 2009 Infiniti G37 X Sedan in Weymouth, MA 02189: Sedan Details - 326267268 - AutoTrader.com
Problem is. It's out of state and I have to trust the dealer about the car and it's extra to have it ship to the westcoast. I have some decisions to make.

You don't list the MSRP, but the car cost seems a little high to me. You should be able to get close to invoice.
The Infiniti finance rates are low, I'm not a fan of money down on leases. Car Man on Edmunds discusses this a lot.
For the used car, that is a pure crap shoot. I would't but a used car without driving/inspecting it, and with 46K you are getting close to having to pay for repair costs. Seems a little expensive to me.
