2012 G37x Sedan Lease Question

I'm currently negotiating a lease for a 2012 G37x sedan and am having a hard time getting the dealer to lower the cap cost. The dealer is trying to tell me that this cap cost is already including $1500 in lease cash and that's all he can do. I already called him out on initially offering me a higher MF, so I suspect that this is also BS.

-Premium Pkg
-Navigation Pkg
-Illuminated Kick Plates
-Trunk Mat
-Splash Guards

MSRP: $43,835
Cap Cost: $39,795 (this is where I feel I'm getting the shaft...)
36 months, 10k miles per year
Money Factor: .00001
Residual: 58%

Interested to hear your thoughts on this. Is this still a decent deal? I'm not in any rush, and from what I've read across the forum I think getting the cap cost down below 39k is completely reasonable. I havent negotiated a lease before, so if any of you have any advice or tactics I'm all ears. Thanks!

For what its worth, I'm about to sign with the following (I don't have the detailed figures because they drop the price a few times over the phone when I said I was talking with another dealer)...

$2000 down (includes tax, fees, 1st mo)
$2000 for my old, beat-up trade-in (it was either that or donate it)
$310/mo
$80 for DMV fees

All of that for a G37x w/ Premium, Nav & Sport packages, 12k miles.

Before I sign, I am going to look to drop another $1k from the down payment

Best deal was when I told them that another dealership was offering to beat their deal

(Honest question)

If the dealer seems like he's not going to budge (and already tried to jack the MF), why not try another dealer?

Invoice price for that car is $40,338. I think you can do much better.

What part of the country do you live in? That's also a factor. Where I live in the northeast, there are literally HUNDREDS of the G37x sedan in stock at dealers. Some dealers have nearly 100 in stock just at their dealer alone. Those dealers with tons of cars in stock will let them go for nearly dealer cost (which is around $38500) because they simply don't want them sitting around on the lot any longer.

Go talk to another dealer and see where you can get them to on a price.

Tip for negotiating a lease is to always focus on the selling price (adj cap cost) of the car just like you would if you were buying it. The residual will stay the same so you can't negotiate that. The money factor is based on your credit. You've got a killer money factor, so that won't go any lower.

You can use an online lease calculator like this one to help you out. http://leaseguide.com/calc.htm

Thanks for the replies. I'm in the Twin Cities with 2 Infiniti dealers in the area. I'm going to contact the other one this afternoon to see what they can offer me.

Buddy just signed on to pay $365 a month for a sedan with premium and navigation, all fees/taxes rolled in and $365 down (which counts as 1st month's payment). I'd definitely shop around a bit and see what you can get in your area.

Thanks for all the advice, guys. Just signed at the second dealer after they were much more up front and easy to work with from the beginning.

2012 G37x Sedan - Blue Slate w/graphite interior
Premium & Nav Packages
39 months, 10k miles/year
MSRP $43,435
Cap Cost $38,000
57% Residual
.00027 Money Factor

$428 a month with just first months payment at delivery. Probably could've haggled for a few bucks lower, but I'm getting free service for the 1st year & lifetime car washes with it so I'm pretty happy overall. I'm in the process of moving to the area and the dealer is going to pick me up when I land at the airport next Saturday so I can pickup the car and get on my way. Can't wait to join the club!
